About the event

Mosinee Alumni and Mosinee Sportsmen's Alliance members are invited to the Second Annual Mosinee Alumni Trap Shooting Tournament!! This bracketed event is a unique way to determine the BEST Class! This is a unique chance to see some old friends and shoot clay targets. You may even have the opportunity to say, “Our class is better than yours.”

Do you need to be a "trap shooter" to participate?  Absolutely not!!

At the Mosinee Sportsman’s Alliance, we pride ourselves in safety, integrity, and good old-fashioned fun. Each year we train many youth shooters from 4th to 12th grade to be safe & responsible shooters. We want all participants to know this will be a fun but extremely SAFE event. Instructors will be on hand to answer any questions and help participants.

Equipment:

We will offer boxes of shells for purchase and we have some extra vests and shooting bags that are free to use during your rounds of trap. Also, the club has shotguns to use free of charge, both 20 and 12 gauges. You are welcome to bring your own shotgun, and you may bring your own ammunition as long as it meets the American Trap Shooters Association guidelines. (Nothing larger than 12 gauge and 7.5 shot size. No plated shot, lead only). If you’re unsure of what you need or what to do, we will help you. Our goal is to make this an enjoyable and fun-filled event. Remember that instructors will be available to help you and are happy to show you what to do. We are here for you.

When:

You may shoot at any time between 8 A.M. and 4 P.M., either with your classmates or with others of your choice. Length of time between rounds will be determined by how many participants are on site.

Food and Raffle Baskets will be available.

Registration:

We would prefer as many as possible to register in advance so we can prepare accordingly, however, you may also register the day of the event. Each Alumni Class will have a Captain as a contact person for the Sportsmen’s Alliance to contact. Each Alumni Class can have as many shooters as they choose but only the top 5 highest scores from that class year will be used for the final score.

The cost of the event is $20/person.

Event T-shirts also available for those pre-registered by August 9th!

Tournament:

Those participating in the event will be placed into divisions based on years since graduation. The divisions and brackets will not be determined until AFTER the event... so while you will see everyone's scores and year of graduation - you will not know who you are competing against or with - until all shooters have registered and shot.  Classes are determined at the end of the event - once all have participated.

Each division will be broken into a winners and losers bracket like other Mosinee Alumni tournaments.

You and your class Alumni will shoot two rounds of trap, 25 targets each round for a total of 50 targets at the standard 16-yd line.

Your group’s first round of trap will put your class into the winners or losers bracket for your division. Your second round of trap will determine your rank in your bracket with the other class Alumni.

Classes with fewer than 5 participants will be combined with adjacent classes to ensure a complete squad, but only the top 5 highest scores from those combined classes will be used for the final score.  Any combining of classes will occur after the tournament has ended to ensure each class is represented by as many Alumni as possible.

The class with the highest score in the winners' bracket will be the tournament winner. Tied scores will be settled by reverse run count for birds broke in a row by the top shooters. In the event this does not resolve the tie, the reverse runs from the next highest shooters on the squads will be used. Continuing with each subsequent person on the top two squads until the tie is broken.

Prizes:

Top 5 participants from the Class in the winning bracket will receive merchandise from the Mosinee Sportsmen’s Alliance.
